Obituary for Carl David Humphrey

Carl David Humphrey passed away unexpectedly at his residence on August 19, 2019. Born in Saint John, NB on July 15, 1939 he was the son of the late Goodrich and Effie (Kierstead) Humphries.

Carl was a character who loved telling a good story or joke. He often sang along with his grandkids and family wherever there was a party. He was an avid collector of anything he could find. Carl was a longshoreman and was a member of the local labour union. He was a proud Shriner and a business owner. In his younger days he enjoyed hunting at the camp in St. Martins. Carl was a family man and will be missed greatly.

Along with his parents, he was predeceased by his first wife; Lillian Jean (Willar), and many brothers and sisters.

Carl is survived by his wife, Joyce, sons; Bruce (Johanne), Richard (Angie), daughter; Carla (David), step–son; Scott (Darlene), step–daughter; Glenna (Sheldon), grand–children; Matthew, Steven, Barbie, David, Alexis, Bradley, Brandon, step–grandchildren; Anthony, Gail, Kevin, Katie, Kenneth, great–grandchildren; several nieces and nephews and Timmy (Corinne).

Arrangements are under the care of Castle Funeral Home, 309 Lancaster Avenue, Saint John, NB E2M 2L3 506–634–1701. Visitation will be held on Thursday, August 22nd from 2 PM to 4 PM and 6 PM to 8 PM at Castle Funeral Home. A Memorial Service will take place on Friday, August 23 at 11 AM with a reception at Castle Funeral Home immediately after. Interment will take place at a later date.

Donations can be made in Carl’s memory to Little Lepreau Cemetery or a charity of the donor’s choice. Online condolences can be made at www.castlefh.com
