Obituary for Eleanor Ferguson

Eleanor O. Ferguson, 88, of Lakeview Manor, Riverview, passed away peacefully at her residence on Thursday, August 22, 2019. Born in Renous, she was the daughter of the late William and Doris (Underhill) Touchie.

Eleanor retired from the Co–Operators Insurance Co. with many years of service. She was a member of the Mount Royal United Church and the former Wesley Memorial United Church. Eleanor was an honorary member of the UCW, the Pythian Sisters and was a volunteer at Lakeview Manor. Her hobbies included reading, sewing, knitting, crochet and cooking, especially making jams and pickles.

Eleanor will be sadly missed by her daughters, Kathy Stewart (Steve) of Upper Coverdale and Susan Craig (Don) of Moncton; grandchildren, Lyndsay (Kirk), Michael (Natalie), Kate (Sean), Keegan (Colleen), Victoria (Ben) and Lindsay; great grandchildren, Molly, Harrison, Sydney, Gracelyn and Scarlett; sister, Connie MacCallum; brothers, Boyd Touchie (Jeanette) and Harold Touchie; brother–in–law, Dan Ferguson (Irene); sister–in–law, Sandra Stuart and several nieces, nephews and extended family members.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Roy Ferguson and brothers, Ernie and James Touchie.

A Service to celebrate and honour Eleanor’s life will be held from Fergusons Funeral Home Chapel, 1657 Mountain Road, Moncton (858–1995) on Monday, August 26, 2019 at 1:30 pm. Reception following the service in the Funeral Home Reception Centre.

In lieu of flowers, in memory of Eleanor, donations to the NB Heart & Stroke Foundation would be appreciated. Online condolences for the family may be shared on Fergusons Funeral Home Facebook page or at www.fergusonsfuneralhome.com
