Obituary for Shirley Mazerolle

(1934-2019)
RICHIBUCTO, NB - On Monday afternoon, August 26, 2019, Shirley Lawson Mazerolle (Mundle) passed away peacefully and surrounded by her family and friends at the Stella Maris Hospital, Ste-Anne-de-Kent. She was born on December 12th, 1934 to Oswald and Bertha Mundle (Lawson) at the Mundle Homestead in Richibucto. As a child, she spent summers in Main River with her beloved uncle Everett. Shirley was born, raised her family and lived in the family property until her health no longer allowed.

Married in 1962 to Leonard, Shirley and he raised a family and spent thirty some years together until Leonard’s death. Shirley then, several years later met the 2nd love of her life, Joe Daigle. She and Joe enjoyed 20 years together until her health failed. Joe spent years tending to Shirley’s health and happiness.

Shirley owned and managed Shirley’s Ladies Wear for over thirty years, a small business catering to women in Richibucto and surrounding areas, a business where her door was always open and customers were loyal and friendships were cultured.

With health failing over the years she managed to have wonderful care provided by several wonderful people including her most recent healthcare workers, Shirley, Laura and Francine.

Shirley is survived by Joseph Daigle and her two sons, Mark (Karen) Kouchibouguac and Dave in Moncton; her grandchildren, Carrie (Jason) and Hollie (Brad) and their children. She also leaves behind Joe’s children, Joey, Susan, Yvonne and Pauline and their extended families. She also leaves a brother, Robert Mundle.

Shirley was predeceased by her parents Oswald and Bertha and her husband Leonard.

Visitation will be held at Thompson’s Funeral Home in Richibucto on Friday from noon until departure for the funeral. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday, August 30, 2019 at 2:00 pm, St. Louis de Gonzague Roman Catholic Church, Richibucto.

Donations in Shirley’s memory may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice.

Arrangements are in care of Thompson’s Funeral Home, Richibucto (523-4252).
