Obituary for Elmer MacArthur

1923 – 2019
Elmer MacArthur, 96, of Moncton, passed away on Tuesday, August 20, 2019 at the K.E. Spencer Memorial Home. Born on February 26, 1923 in Lewisville, he was the son of the late Peter and Eva (Humphreys) MacArthur.

Elmer was the former business partner with his brother Alex of MacArthur Demolition. He enjoyed roller skating, speed skating and biking until he was in his 80’s.

He is survived by one sister–in–law, Dorothy MacArthur of Moncton, as well as many nieces and nephews. He was the last surviving member of his immediate family.

Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his siblings: Orville, Laura, infant Lloyd, George, Willard who passed away during WWII in 1944, and Alex.

By request, there will be no visitation at the funeral home. A memorial service will be held at the Moncton Seventh–Day Adventist Church, 161 Salisbury Road, Moncton, on Sunday, September 8, 2019 at 2 pm with his nephew, Gordon Dinning officiating.

In memory of Elmer, a contribution to K.E. Spencer Memorial Home would be appreciated. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Frenette Funeral and Cremation Centre, Moncton (858–1900). Words of comfort and donations can be made at www.frenettefuneralhome.com
