Obituary for Edna Flewelling

It’s with a life well lived, that the family of Edna Joyce (Clark) Flewelling announce her passing on Friday August 30, 2019, surrounded by her family at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Edna was born on September 16, 1926 in Fredericton, NB to the late Robert and Beatrice (Vye) Clark. She was the loving wife to the late John Flewelling (2015).

Edna worked for a number of years at the Bank of Nova Scotia on Main Street North; bookkeeping for Lancaster Tractor and Equipment, and Flewelling Farm Produce. She enjoyed travelling and looked forward to her annual trips to PEI. She loved spending time at her cottage at New River Beach and could often be found working in her garden or reading a good mystery novel.

Edna was a lovely woman, and her family was very dear to her. Edna will be greatly missed by her children; Sharon (David) Saunderson, Linda McCarten (Joe) and Barry Flewelling, sister-in law Jackie Clark, grandchildren; Monica (Dan) Cote and Colin (Sarah Deline) McCarten, great-grandchildren; Lily and Jackson, and many nieces and nephews.

She is predeceased by her parents, husband John, brothers; Percy (Mona) Clark and Robert Clark and baby sister, Joan Clark.

Edna would like to specially thank her nephew Billy Blagden for his help in looking after her. A special thank you from the family, to the caring staff of 3C South.

Resting at Castle Funeral Home, 309 Lancaster Avenue, Saint John, NB E2M 2L3 506-634-1701. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, September 3rd, 2019 from 4 PM to 8 PM. A Memorial Service will be held from Castle “Fallsview” Chapel on Wednesday, September 4th, 2019 at 11 AM. Interment will follow in The Church of Good Shepherd Cemetery, with a reception after at Castle Fallsview Reception Centre.

Donations in Edna’s memory can be made to Bobby’s Hospice or the charity of the donor’s choice. Online condolences can be made at www.castlefh.com
