Obituary for Thérèse Roy

1921 - 2019
Sister Thérèse Roy (Sr. Marie-Marcel), ndsc, of Maison-mère des Religieuses Notre-Dame-du-Sacré-Coeur, Moncton, passed away following a lengthy illness on Monday September 2, 2019, at the convent where she resided. She was 97 years old and in the 67th year of her religious life. Born on October 13 1921 in Robertville, she was the daughter of the late Marcel and Hélène (Doucet) Roy.

Besides her religious family, she is survived by a sister, Sr Hélène Roy ndsc of Maison-mère in Moncton; as well as several nephews and nieces.

Besides her parents, she was predeceased by five sisters: Imelda, Parmélia, Éveline, Priscille and Yvette; five brothers: Albénie, Hector, Léandre, infant Lionel and infant Wilfred.

Sister Thérèse will be resting at the Notre-Dame-d’Acadie Pavilion of the Maison-mère, 125 King Street, Moncton (Godfrey Lane entrance) on Thursday from 2 to 8:30 pm and Friday from 9 am until the funeral mass. Solemn Vespers will be held on Thursday evening at 7 pm. The funeral mass will be celebrated on Friday September 6 in the Maison-mèr chapel at 10 am. Interment will be in Memramcook. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Frenette Funeral and Cremation Centre, Moncton (858-1900). Words of comfort and donations may be made at www.frenettefuneralhome.com
