Obituary for Mary "Gladys" Gow

In her 98th year Mary "Gladys" Gow died comfortably on September 5, 2019 at Rocmaura Nursing Home.

Gladys grew up on the west side of Saint John, married, had three children and was a stay at home mom. Gladys and John, her husband of almost 70 years enjoyed their life together which revolved around their family, friends and church community of Carleton - Kirk United.

Gladys is survived by her three children: Janice Stephenson of Halifax, Lynda Gow of Saint John, and Bruce (Trudy) Gow of Wickham, NB; five grandchildren: Jonathan (Michelle), Jill, Hilary, Jeffrey (Bojana), and Brent (Kara); three great-grandchildren; and her sister in law, Althea Barlow of Fredericton.

She was predeceased by her parents Walter and Ethel Barlow, her husband John, her infant brother Ritchie, her sister Nancy Brown, her brother Burt Barlow, and her son-in-law, Dr. Don Stephenson.

Sincere thanks to the staff at Carleton Kirk Lodge and Rocmaura Nursing Home especially to Trinity and Garden Courts for their compassionate care.

Arrangements are under the care of Castle Funeral Home, 309 Lancaster Avenue, Saint John, NB E2M 2L3 506-634-1701. Visitation will be held prior to the service at 12 Noon on Monday, September 9, 2019. The service to celebrate and give thanks for her long and full life will be held at Carleton-Kirk United Church, 1 Carleton Kirk Place on September 9, at 1:00 PM led by Rev. John Roy, with a reception to follow. Interment will be at Greenwood Cemetery.
