The passing of Verna Louise Bell of Beaver Harbour NB, wife of the late George Allison Bell, occurred at the Saint John Regional Hospital, Saint John NB on September 5, 2019. Born in St. Stephen NB on August 28, 1937, she was a daughter of the late Adolphus and Muriel (Stuart) Hawkins.

A loving mother, companion, sister and aunt, Verna is survived by her son: Wade Hawkins of Beaver Harbour NB; her companion: Danny Justason of Seeley's Cove NB; sisters: Phyllis Justason, Barbara Sloan, Carolanne (Joe) Cooke and Alice (Stanley) Kaglar all of Beaver Harbour NB; brothers: Allison (Audrey) Hawkins of Beaver Harbour NB and Clarence Hawkins of Terence Bay NS; several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Prior to retirement, Verna worked for Connors Brothers in both Blacks and Beaver Harbour. She loved the outdoors and enjoyed hunting, fishing and ski–dooing. Verna was a people person who loved to help others and if she saw you while out on her adventures you were sure to get a hello and a hug. She loved music and dancing and enjoyed attending the Sunday Jams in Blacks Harbour. In her free time, Verna could be found travelling to St. Stephen and Calais for a shopping trip. She was a longtime member of the Beaver Harbour Baptist Church and also attended the Seeley's Cove Pentecostal Church. Verna's love and care for her family and friends will truly be missed.
