Obituary for Gerald Joseph Glazier

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Gerald Glazier at the DVA Health Centre in Fredericton, NB. Gerald was born in Bathurst, NB on October 12, 1925. Following a stroke in April of this year, he passed away on September 5, 2019 with his family by his side.

During World War II, Gerald served in the Merchant Navy, delivering supplies around the world for their comrades. He later worked as a supervisor in pulpmills in Bathurst, NB, Marathon, ON, New Richmond, PQ and Nackawic, NB. For many years, Gerald travelled to Florida and enjoyed his retirement years.

He is survived by his children, Donna Clack (Bob), Alberta, Peter Glazier, Fredericton, NB, John Glazier (Susan) and David Glazier (Sandra), both of Nackawic, NB, Ronnie Glazier and Geraldine Brooks (Aaron), both of Saint John, NB, Denise Glazier Eisner (Mac), Fredericton, NB and Kenny Glazier (Cheri), Oshawa, ON; grandchildren, Brian Clack (Debbie), Saint John, NB, Deb Wong, Alberta, Aaron Glazier (Heidi), Keswick, NB, Cher Daley (Sean), Fredericton, NB, Kristy Glazier (Jason), Temperance Vale, NB, Deidre Glazier (Gerald), Nackawic, NB, Tricia Dore (Ryan), Southampton, NB, Valene Maillet (Scott), Nackawic, NB, Joel Brooks (Kerri) and Justine Brooks, Saint John, NB, Dylan Eisner, Alberta, Chloé Eisner (Matt), Saint John, NB, Dean Glazier Forsyth (Chloé), Toronto, ON, Tyler Schut, Oshawa, ON and Jenna Lavigne (David), Saint John, NB; great-grandchildren, Oliver Wong, Alberta, Krissa Clack (Andrew) and Tylor Clack both of Saint John, NB, Marlee Glazier, Keswick, NB, Sawyer, Isaiah and Holden Daley, Fredericton, NB, Jamie MacDonald (Matthew), Hawkins Corner, NB, Madison MacDonald, Nackawic, NB, Brady and Bruce Stairs, Temperance Vale, NB, Brayden and Eva Dore, Southampton, NB, Parker and Avery Maillet, Nackawic, NB, Brett Brooks, Saint John, NB, Max and Sophia Gauthier, both of Saint John, NB; a great-great-grandchild, Kyleigh Clack; four sisters, Cecile Bernier, Alberta, Irene MacLellan, Bathurst, NB, Margaret White (George), Moncton, NB and Janine Tucker (Pat), Rothesay, NB; several nieces and nephews.

Gerald was predeceased by his parents, Wilfred and Estelle (Chaison) Glazier; his first wife Gloria (Cormier) Glazier; his second wife, Winnifred (Johnson) Glazier; a brother, Clarence Glazier (Marjorie) and a sister Dorothy Cormier (Albine).

An informal gathering and refreshments will be held at Flewelling Funeral Home, 585 Otis Drive, Nackawic, NB on Wednesday, September 11, 2019 from 2 to 4 pm when friends can visit with the family and celebrate Gerald’s life. A private family interment will follow at Otis Cemetery.

For those who wish to make a donation in memory of Gerald, the family has suggested Nackawic Elementary School (Breakfast Program). The family wishes to thank the doctors and staff at Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital and the DVA for the excellent care Gerald received. www.flewellingswan.com
