Obituary for Donna Ouellette

Donna, of Barrie, passed away at the age of 69 years at the Royal Victoria Regional Health Centre on Thursday, September 5, 2019. Born in Moncton she was the daughter of the late Laurier and Kathleen (Donahue) Savage.

Donna was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin and friend. Donna was a devout and loving wife to her husband Gilbert of 47 years, who was always by her side. Donna will be forever remembered by her children Natasha (Rene) Yetman of Innisfil, and Marc (Tina) Ouellette of Orillia. She cherished her visits with her grandchildren, Connor, Cailee, Annabelle and Kathleen who will miss their “grammy”. They were truly a delight and gave her the will to carry on over recent years despite her ever failing and complicated health struggles. Donna will be dearly and sadly missed by her sisters, Brenda Ann Fitzsimmons (Fred) of Halifax, Jane Baker (Bernie) of Lower Sackville, NS, Sheila Hamilton (Arnold) of Barrie, ON and several loving nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends. Too many to name them all.

Donna really loved to travel, especially to dip her toes in the sand and water, whether it was at a pool, beach or better yet the ocean. She enjoyed socializing with friends and talked the ear off almost anyone she may meet. She was happy to find a bargain while shopping. She will be remembered fondly especially for her great love and enthusiasm to Celebrate and Decorate for every occasion and holiday. Don’t forget the food and drink! She would always try to fill everyone’s belly with something tasty and special.

Family will receive well wishes at the Steckley-Gooderham Funeral Homes, 30 Worsley St., Barrie, on Monday, September 9 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral Mass at St. Columbkilles Roman Catholic Church, Uptergrove on Tuesday, September 10, 2019 at 11 a.m. Interment at St. Columbkilles Catholic Cemetery. Reception to follow in the Parish Hall.

In Donna’s memory, in lieu of flowers, donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or memorial of choice may be made. Online condolences www.stecklegooderham.com
