Obituary for Anita Goss Grearson

Peacefully at the residence of her daughter in St. George NB on September 10, 2019, Anita Goss (Spinney) Grearson, wife of the late Gerald Edward Grearson of St. George. Born in St. Stephen NB on October 5, 1926, she was the only child of Llewellyn and Royce Lavonne (Goss) Spinney.

A loving mother, grandmother and great–grandmother, Anita will be lovingly remembered by her daughter: Judith (Donald) Breau of St. George; her grandchildren: Gil (Michelle) Breau and Danielle (Kevin) Hughes both of St. George; great–grandchildren: Declan and Lennox Hughes; several cousins.

In addition to her parents and husband, Anita was predeceased by one great–granddaughter: Morgan Marie Breau.

Prior to retirement, Anita began her career with the Bank of Nova Scotia in St. George and retired as the Post Master at Canada Post, where she was employed for 32 years. A pillar of knowledge in the community, Anita was an early member of the Charlotte County Historical Society, The Charlotte County Genealogy Society, was active on the Charlotte County Museum Board and volunteered at the Charlotte County Archives. She was a long time member of the St. Mark's Anglican Church in St. George and served as Warden, was a Vestry and Choir Member, and was active with the WA/ACW for over 50 years. Anita and Gerald were married for over 59 years and they made an amazing life together. They took many trips across Canada and to the USA and Anita documented, in detail, their many adventures together. She loved to read, do crafts, paint, garden and of course research local history and work on Genealogy. Anita will always be remembered for her kind demeanor, her helpful hands and her loving heart.

Resting at the St. George Funeral Home (755–3533) 26 Portage Street, St. George, NB with visiting on Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 pm. The service will be held from St. Mark's Anglican Church, St. George NB on Thursday at 2 pm with Rev. Mary Anne Langmaid officiating, followed by the interment in the St. George Rural Cemetery.

In Anita's memory, donations to St. Mark's Anglican Church would be appreciated by her family. Online donations and condolences may be placed at www.stgeorgefh.ca
