Obituary for Jean-Claude Doiron

Jean-Claude Doiron of Nackawic, NB passed away on September 13, 2019 at Hospice House Fredericton. Jean-Claude was born on January 3, 1949 in Atholville, NB, a son of the late Leonard and Dora (Lagacé) Doiron.

Jean Claude was a devoted and loving husband, father, grand-father and great grand-father. He lived his life to the fullest and he was a fun-loving happy man. He loved all of his family dearly.

He grew up in the charming little town of Atholville, NB. He moved to the beautiful town of Nackawic, NB in August 1973 where he raised his family and worked at the Nackawic Pulp Mill for 40 years. He retired in 2013. Once retired he loved spending time with family, camping, hunting, fishing and playing crib. Most of us that knew him well would say some of his happiest moments were around Christmas time when he brought the magic of Christmas to many of us as the town’s beloved Santa Claus.

He is survived by his wife, M. Jacqueline (Lapointe) Doiron; his children, Nathalie Pike (Kurt), Temperance Vale, NB and Patrick Doiron (Ronda), Fredericton, NB; five grandchildren, Amy Pike (Coltin), Monique Seely (Dave), Ella Pike, Allysa Rostin and Bradley Rostin; four great grandchildren, Marshall, Cali, McKinley and Leena; his siblings, Nora Jean (Claude), Atholville, NB, Lucien Doiron (Charleen), Rimouski, QC, Jacques Doiron (Jeanine), Campbellton, NB, Yves Doiron (Gisele), Atholville, NB, Louis Doiron (Madeleine), Atholville, NB, Lise Lavallée (Clarence), Atholville, NB and Aline Lapointe (Gilbert), Nackawic, NB; brothers-in-law, Yvon Lapointe (Marielle), Tracy, QC, Raynald Lapointe (Catherine), Pointe à la Croix, QC, Gilbert Lapointe (Aline), NB and Réjean Lapointe (Liette), Pointe à la Croix, QC; several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a brother, Charles Doiron and a sister-in-law, Rose-Anna Lapointe (late Dave Jacques).

Visitation will be held at Flewelling Funeral Home, 585 Otis Drive, Nackawic, NB on Friday, September 20, 2019 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Sts. Simon and Jude Catholic Church, 199 Otis Drive, Nackawic, NB, E6G 1H3 on Saturday, September 21, 2019 at 10:30 am with Celebrant Father John Beaumaster. A reception will follow in the church hall. Interment will be at a later date at Sts. Simon and Jude Cemetery.

For those who wish to make a donation in memory of Jean-Claude, the family has suggested Hospice House Fredericton or a charity of the donor’s choice.

The family would like to thank all the staff at the Chalmers Hospital, Hospice House Fredericton and others who stopped by to see Jean Claude while in hospital. A special thank you to his nurse Julia, Doctor Frenette, Doctor Queen, Doctor Vaillancourt and Doctor Kenny. www.flewellingswan.com
