Obituary for Thomas Enright

The family of Thomas Ward Enright are saddened to announce his passing, which occurred at the Saint John Regional Hospital on Sunday, September 15, 2019. Born in Saint John, August 16th of 1929; he was the son of the late Thomas William and Dorothy Gertrude (Ward) Enright.

Tom was a graduate of St. Vincent’s High School for boys; in his younger years he took flying lessons with Air Cadets where he got his fascination for planes. Tom worked for Retail Credit, McAvity’s and later operated the White Rose Service Station on Waterloo Street. He was a Checker for the Long Shore man’s retiring in 1994 and a member of the ILA Local 273. Tom was a great conversationalist and a man with a wealth of knowledge which he would share with anyone who would listen. A very spiritual man who loved his family, he had a passion for model airplanes, gardening and fishing.

Tom is survived by his loving wife of 65 years Barbara Joyce (McCarlie) Enright; children Barbara Holt (Michael), David Enright (Theresa) and Mary Jane Kelly (Stephen) all of Saint John and Richard Enright (Lisa) of Riverview, NB; brother Lorne Enright (Florence); sister Dorothy Enright both of Saint John; 10 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; brothers-in-law; sisters-in-law; nieces, nephews and friends.

Arrangements are under the direction of the Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road (646-2424) with visitation on Wednesday, September 18th, 2019 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be held from St. Ann’s Catholic Church, 135 Simpson Drive on Thursday, September 19th at 11:00 a.m. Interment to follow at Holy Cross Cemetery.
