Obituary for John Garnier

It is with sadness that the family of John Lincoln Garnier Sr. announces his death at home in Oromocto on Sunday, September 15, 2019 at the age of 88. Born in North Sydney, NS, on December 27, 1930, he was the husband of the late Josephine (MacNeil) Garnier.

John leaves behind his children, John Garnier Jr. (Deborah) of Spruce Grove, AB, Charles Garnier (Catherine) of Ottawa, ON, Darlene Dale (Gerry) and Brenda Dionne (Terry), both of Lincoln, NB, Shelley Gero of Oromocto, NB; brother, Clyde Garnier (Evelyn) of Ottawa, ON; grandchildren, Meghan (Grant) , John (Tasha), Tara (Rob), Nathan (Nicole), Daniel (Kelly), Nicholas, Kassie (Matthew), Jared (Tasha), Kelsey (Dylan), Blaire; great-grandchildren, Blake, Kade, Carter, Lyla, John, Freya, Ashley, Kennedy, Aliya, Emillee, Charlotte, Haylie, Tristan, Rylea, Lucas, Dylan, Ryder, Kayden, Kameron, and Peyton.

John was predeceased by his parents, James and Sara (Ogden) Garnier; siblings, Jim, Polly, Edwin, John, Sydney, Don, Reg, Patricia, Shirley, Lonnie, Wally, Terry, Raymond, and Sidney.

The family would like to thank Dr.'s Kristen Brown and Timothy Snell in Oromocto, Dr. Holly Campbell at Saint John Regional Hospital, the Red Cross, as well as Gerard Gilbert at Guardian Drug in Oromocto. Special thank you to Dr. Beatriz Sainz and her compassionate staff as well as the staff of Oromocto Extra Mural.

There will be no visitation by request. Memorial Mass will be celebrated from St. Mary's Chapel, CFB Gagetown, on Saturday, September 21, 2019 at 11:00 am with Fr. Lance Magdziak as celebrant. Interment will take place in St. Vincent de Paul Cemetery along side his wife, Josephine.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice Fredericton or the Canadian Cancer Society. Online condolences can be made at www.oromoctofh.com.
