Obituary for Jennifer McDevitt

It is with great sadness that the family of Jennifer Dawn McDevitt announces her passing on
September 19, 2019, at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born in Saint John, New Brunswick
on January 13, 1985, she was the youngest daughter of loving parents Terry and Lynne
(Whittaker) McDevitt, and sister to Aimee.

Jennifer was a graduate of Saint John High School, class of 2003, and subsequently graduated
from the Educational Assistant Program at NBCC in 2004. Jennifer’s greatest joy was spending
time with family. She was a doting aunt and cherished her cats Sawyer and Wellington.

Besides her parents she is survived by her sister Aimee McDevitt (Kevin Rueckwald) of Ottawa,
her nieces; Lola (her goddaughter), Norah, and her nephew William; her loving aunts and uncles;
Debbie (Blair), Jody (Dave), Kim (Bill), Paul (Sharon), Maggie, Judy (Tommy), and Peter
(Jackie); her adoring friends Jodie, Danielle and Karen; and many loving cousins. Jennifer also
had a special relationship as an honorary aunt to Alandria, Addisyn, Cameron, and Riley. She
also held a special place in her heart for Brittney, Nick, and Jacob.

Jennifer was predeceased by her grandparents Jean and Donald Whittaker and Adeline and
Harold McDevitt, her brother Timothy, and her cherished uncle Harold.

A special thank you to Dr. Wheelock and Dr. Paras for their exemplary care that provided
Jennifer with an enriched life.

The family will receive relatives and friends at Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road, on
Monday, September 23, 2019 from 12 noon until 2:00 pm immediately followed by the
Celebration of Life Service at the Fundy Funeral Home Chapel. Private interment will take place
at St. Joseph’s Cemetery. Remembrances in Jennifer’s memory to the Stan Cassidy Centre for
Rehabilitation or the Shriners Hospitals for Children- Canada would be appreciated.
