Obituary for Eunice Melanson

It is with great sadness the family announces the passing of Eunice Marie (Burrage) (Lamb) (Vey) Melanson surrounded by her loving family, wife of the late Albert J. Melanson which occurred on September 21, 2019 at Rocmaura Nursing Home. Born on August 5, 1930 in Glace Bay, NS, she was a daughter of the late Abe and Sarah (Gracie) Burrage.

She was employed as a Ward Aid at the Saint John Regional Hospital for over 30 years until her retirement in 1986. She enjoyed bingo and listening to music by Delbert.

She is survived by one son: Robert Vey (Barbara); three daughters: Elaine Danahy, Joanne MacMillian, Paulette Seely (Scott); three: step-sons: Don Melanson (Stephen), Robert and John Melanson; step-daughter: Lorriane Sutherland (David); nine grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter; three nieces.

Besides her husband and parents she was predeceased by one sister: Dolena Burrage; three brothers: LeRoy, Courtney and George Burrage.

The family would like to thank everyone at Rocmaura for your care, kindness and compassion towards Eunice that will not be forgotten (especially during the last three days).

Arrangements are under the care of Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424). By her request there will be no funeral home visiting or service. Interment in Ocean View Memorial Gardens.
