Obituary for Jarvis McQuinn

Jarvis McQuinn was reunited with the love of his life Lois (Cotter) on Sunday, September 22, 2019. He was born on September 15, 1930 to the late Agnes and Fred McQuinn.

Jarvis worked at Sharp’s Corner Drug Store for more than 50 years. He loved his job, his church St. Francis Xavier and his community. Most of all, he loved his dear Lois and their family. He and Lois were so happy when everyone was together.

Jarvis and Lois were married for over 64 years. They were both well known around Sussex for their many contributions and involvement in the community. Jarvis was a lifelong member of the Kiwanis Sussex Chapter and the Sussex Valley Knights of Columbus. He was a kind hearted and loving man with a great sense of humor, which was apparent to all those who knew him. He will be greatly missed.

Jarvis will live on in the hearts of his daughters: Mary Theresa McConchie and her husband Ken of Norton, Anne Blanchard and her husband Bob of Saint John, Margaret McQuinn Aiton and her husband Gene of Picadilly and Monica MacWilliam and her husband Peter of Fredericton; his son, Shaun McQuinn and Laura Araneda of Sussex Corner; his sisters-in-law: Geraldine Reinders of Saint John, Betty Cotter of Sussex and Honey Cotter of Quispamsis; his brothers-in-law: Phelan Cotter and his wife Betty of Nova Scotia, Frank Cotter and his wife Mary Lou of Fredericton and Paul Cotter and his wife Judith of Ontario; grandchildren: Jane McConchie Payne and her husband Jeff, Joel McConchie and his wife Julie, John McConchie and his wife Joanna, Jake McConchie and Hilary Sharp, Tania McQuinn and Mike Doucet, Max McQuinn and Chelsey Goddard, Jackson McQuinn and Michaela Tremblay, Mitch McQuinn and Jill Veysey, Cassidy McQuinn and Jordan Damery, Nicholas Blanchard, Brandon Blanchard and Emily Bailey, Marcus Aiton and his wife Molly, Alex Aiton, Aidan MacWilliam, Erin MacWilliam, Kat Araneda, Alex Araneda, Lulu Araneda and Eva Araneda; great-grandchildren: MacKenzie, Lucas, Gracein, Adele, Connell, Caroline, Levi and Audrey; as well as several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Jarvis was predeceased by his wife Lois, his parents, his sister Mary, and brothers Mike and George.

Arrangements are entrusted to the compassionate care of Wallace Funeral Home, 34 Sunnyside Drive Sussex, NB (506-433-1176) from where visitation will be held on Thursday, September 26, 2019 from 1:00 to 3:00 and 6:00 to 8:00pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held from St. Francis Xavier Roman Catholic Church on Friday, September 27, 2019 at 11:00am. Interment will follow at Wards Creek Cemetery.

If you are considering making a memorial donation in memory of Jarvis, the family has suggested the Sussex Minor Hockey Association, Sussex Valley Knights of Columbus or to the charity of your choice. Condolences to the family and donations may be made through WallaceFuneralHome.com.
