Obituary for Muriel Raymond

Muriel Jean Raymond (Bavis), 90, passed away peacefully at The Moncton Hospital on Sunday, September 22, 2019 with her loving family by her side. Muriel was the daughter of Harry and Mary Bavis of Cross Creek, NB.

Muriel was foremost a loving mother and homemaker, she treasured her family and was happiest when she was spending time with them.

She loved to paint, and her paintings now adorn the walls of many of her family and friends homes. She also enjoyed golfing, curling, bowling, and playing bridge. She was a long-time member of Mountain Ridge Golf Club and Beausejour Curling Club. She will be remembered for her love and generosity and her pies! If you were lucky enough to be part of Muriel’s family or treasured friends, you could always count on a card for any occasion from Muriel.

Muriel is survived by her daughters Dianne Arthur (Bruce), Deborah Hollinger (Mark), Linda Meagher (Rick); her sons, Richard (Cora) and David (Debbie); 10 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. She is also survived by seven brothers and one sister.

In addition to her parents, Muriel was predeceased by her husband the love of her life, George, and by one brother and one sister.

Special thanks to the many caring staff on the Palliative Care Unit at The Moncton Hospital. Their kindness and compassion will always be remembered.

A visitation in celebration of Muriel’s life will be held at Fair Haven Funeral Home, 1177 Salisbury Road, Moncton, on Thursday, September 26, 2019 from 2 to 4 pm. Her funeral will be held at St. Bernard’s Church, 43 Botsford St, Moncton, on Friday, September 27, 2019 at 11 a.m., with a reception to follow in the church hall.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Friends of The Moncton Hospital, Palliative Care Unit or donor’s choice.
