Obituary for Victor "John" Doucet

1945 - 2019
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Victor “John” Doucet, on Wednesday, September 25, 2019 while visiting family in Moncton. He was born on VJ Day, August 14, 1945 to Alfred J. and Irene (Levesque) Doucet in Moncton, NB.

John was the youngest of four boys and one girl. He loved his family and was so proud of his children, Joyce and Troy. His dog Bailey also held a special place in his heart! He was also known for his sense of humour, and he loved to tell a joke.

John was a top notch salesman in the beauty supply business for many years, but found his niche in Elginburg, Ontario, with his long time best friend and partner, Judy Vanhorne, who introduced him to country living and her horses. Her two girls also became part of his life. John loved life and lived it to the beat of his own drum.

There are many left to mourn his loss, including his partner, Judy, and her two children; his two children: Joyce Mailman (Greg) of Halifax, NS, Troy Doucet (Sherri) of Moncton; the mother of his children, Euclida Doucet; two brothers: Maurice (Ann) of Halifax, and Raymond (Beulah) of Moncton; as well as many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Besides his parents, John was predeceased by a young sister, Joyce (1932), an eldest brother, Alfred “Duke” (2015); and one nephew, Kevin Doucet.

A private celebration of his life will be held for family and friends at a later date.

In memory of John, a contribution to a charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Frenette Funeral and Cremation Centre, Moncton (858-1900). Words of comfort and donations can be made at www.frenettefuneralhome.com
