Obituary for Raoul Benoit

1933-2019
St-Pons - It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Mr. Raoul Benoit, who left peacefully Saturday, October 5, 2019, at the age of 86 years. He had been living at Villa St. Joseph in Tracadie for 10 years. Born June 4, 1933, he was the son of the late Wilfred Benoit and the late Elizabeth Comeau.

He is survived by his children: Melinda (René Haché) of Sussex, Deborah (Jim Evoy) of Courtice, Ont., Gerald (Karla) of South Carolina, USA and Marie-Therese of Collingwood, Ont.; eight grandchildren: Alex, Dominique, Zachary, Tiana, Isabel, Nicolette, Sophia and Katheryn; the mother of his children, Patricia Benoit (Daigle) and his second wife, Jacqueline Boudreau; his brothers and sisters: Claude (Doris), Gisèle (Eugène Thébault), Aldéo (Jeannine), Rufin (Ernestine), Hermel, Odilla (Roger Doiron) and Claire-Léona, as well as several nephews, nieces, cousins and friends.

Predeceased by his brother and sister: Carmelle (late Gérard) and Lorenzo.

Prior to his retirement, our father was a very proud employee of the Chaleur Regional Hospital in Bathurst. He was the superintendent of maintenance and loved his responsibilities.

The family will receive relatives and friends at 7 pm, on Tuesday, October 8, 2019 at Robichaud & Son Funeral Home, 3875, Main Street, Tracadie. The funeral service will be held at the Notre Dame de la Salette Church in Sheila, on Wednesday, October 9, 2019 at 11 am. Visitation hours: Tuesday, October 8, from 7 pm to 9 pm and Wednesday, October 9, from 9:30 to 10:45 am.

The family would like to thank Amylie Landry for the tenderness shown to our father during her many visits. The family also wishes to thank "his family" at Villa St. Joseph, of which he was one of the oldest residents. While our father was in palliative care, we received exceptional support from each member of the team at the Villa, meals served, prayers, care for our father, words of encouragement were given without reservation for the comfort of our father and our family.

These words will always resonate ... "If there is anything we can do to help you, you just need to ask!"

You can send messages of condolence on our website (www.salonrobichaud.com).
