Obituary for Edna "Jean" Kirouac

The passing of Edna "Jean" (Holt) Kirouac of Saint John NB and formerly of St. George NB occurred at the Saint John Regional Hospital, Saint John NB on October 5, 2019. Born in St. George NB on September 15, 1937 she was the daughter of the late Eldon D. Holt and Annie B. (Jackson) Holt.

A loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, partner, cousin and friend, Jean is survived by her two sons: Ronald Kirouac (Melissa Summers) and Richard Kirouac both of Hamilton ON; one grandson: Kyle Beam of Hamilton ON; great-grandson: Jesse; her partner: Joe Parisien of Saint John NB and several cousins.

In addition to her parents, Jean was predeceased by her step-mother: Ethel Holt; and by her husband: Joseph "Bill" C. Kirouac.

Prior to retirement, Jean worked in various retail stores in both St. George NB and Hamilton ON and in her later years she worked in home care services. She loved to travel and enjoyed spending evenings at the Clipper Shipp Motel in Pocologan. Jean loved her family and she always looked forward to the gatherings held in Red Rock. She was a volunteer at the Saint John Villa for a number of years and her care and compassion will truly be missed.

Arrangements in the care of the St. George Funeral Home (755-3533) 26 Portage Street, St. George NB. As keeping with Jean's wishes, there will be no visitation or funeral service.

In Jean's memory, donations to Charlotte County Cancer, the Charlotte County SPCA or to a charity of the donor's choice would be greatly appreciated by the family. Online donations and condolences may be placed at www.stgeorgefh.ca
