Obituary for Troy Lewis Bourque

It is with profound sadness and broken hearts that we announce the sudden passing of Troy in a tragic workplace accident at Devon Lumber on Thursday, October 10, 2019. Troy was born on April 13, 1969 to Gerald and Sandra Bourque.

Troy is survived by the loves of his life, his wife, Corry Ellen (Hood) and their daughter, Megan Bourque; his parents, Gerald and Sandra Bourque of Woodlands, NB; sister, Nola Carr (Dennis Woodcock) of Fredericton, NB; sister in law, Candace MacDonald (John) of Noonan, NB; brother in law, Steve Charbonneau (Mary Jane) of Lancaster, PA; nieces, Maddie Carr (Evan Cook), Dee Carr (Keenan Hovey), Paige (Kevin), Quinn Taylor (Tobias), Bayley (Thai) and Eliza Jane; great-nieces, twins Chloe and Autumn, and Persephone; great-nephews, Otto and Jones; several aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

Troy was predeceased by his brother, Jason; maternal grandparents, Lewis and Madeline Lockhart; paternal grandparents, Henry and Sadie Bourque; mother and father in law, Freda and Doug Hood.

Troy was a licensed lumber grader at the mill for almost 30 years. Troy was always willing and able to lend a helping hand anywhere he could. He enjoyed playing music, and was in the band Prairie Fire for a few years; he also enjoyed playing poker, pickleball, coaching and watching his pride and joy, Megan play her sports. He will be greatly missed.

Visitation will take place at York Funeral Home, 302 Brookside Drive on Wednesday, October 16, 2019 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 9 pm. The Funeral Service will take place at Hillcrest United Church on Thursday, October 17, 2019 at 2 pm with Rev. Brian DeLong officiating. Interment will take place in Hillcrest United Church Cemetery. Honourary Pallbearers will be Devon Lumber Employees, Kris Rice, Jamie Rice and Troy Campbell.

For those who wish, remembrances may be made to the Chalmers Foundation Oncology Unit or to Megan’s Registered RESP Fund. Personal condolences may be offered through www.yorkfh.com
