Obituary for Francis Donovan

Francis Joseph Donovan, husband of the late Theresa (Brennan) Donovan of Losier Hall, formally of Renous passed away at his late residence on Sunday, October 13, 2019 at the age of 92. Born in Newcastle NB, he was the son of the late John and Bridget (Mahoney) Donovan.

He was a retired heavy equipment mechanic of M.F Esson, a member of St Bridget’s Roman Catholic Church and also a member of Father Dixon Council Knights of Columbus.

He is survived by his daughters, Valerie Donovan (Mario Theriault) of Fredericton and Jennifer Donovan of Fredericton; his sons, Brad (Hazel) of Pineville, David of Weyburn, Saskatchewan, Jeff (Sandra) of Blackville and Sean of Miramichi; his sisters, Dorothy Colepaugh (late Barry) of Derby and Marjorie Steeves (late Charles) of Woodstock; and his nine grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.

Besides his parents and wife, he was predeceased by his son John Wayne.

Francis Joseph Donovan rested at Father Murdock Memorial Room, Renous on Wednesday, October 16, 2019 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9. Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated on Thursday, October 17, 2019 at 11 am at St. Bridget’s Roman Catholic Church, Renous with Father Dan Bastarache and Father Vincent Donovan officiating. Burial will be in the family plot of the church cemetery. Organist Nancy Donovan and soloist Brad Donovan led the church choir. A solo “In the Garden” was by Brad Donovan, Jennifer Donovan and Valerie Theriault. Readings were by Jeff Donovan, Rose LeBlanc, Valerie Theriault and Jennifer Donovan, Eulogy was by Father Dan Bastarache. Active pallbearers were: Danny Donovan, David Donovan, Justin LeBlanc, Mario Theriault, Medley Wood and Bernard Colepaugh.

In his memory, donations to a memorial of one’s choice would be appreciated by the family.

Arrangements were in the care of Davidson’s Funeral Home, 622-7464 and online at www.davidsonsfh.com, your family-owned, family-operated funeral home.
