Obituary for Ronaldo Lavoie

1934 ~ 2019
Moncton, NB, Ronaldo Lavoie, 85, passed away peacefully at the Dr. Georges–L.–Dumont university hospital centre on Wednesday, October 23, 2019. Born in Rogersville NB, he was the son of the late Ben F. and the late Anna Lavoie (born ‘Dionne’ Richard).

Ronaldo studied at “Collège Sacré–Coeur” in Bathurst and “Collège St–Joseph” in Memramcook and before retirement worked as a social worker. Ronaldo proudly played hockey with “Aigles Bleus” from 1952 to 1954.

Ronaldo will be sadly missed by his loving wife, Hélène Léger of Moncton; his sons, Pierre Lavoie of Moncton, Michel Lavoie (Carole) of Alberta and Jacques Lavoie (Amy) of Moncton; his daughter, Gisèle Lavoie of Moncton; his step–son, Jacques Léger (Krista) of Moncton and his step–daughter, Nadine Morin (Anthony) of Memramcook; his sisters, Annette Comeau (late Bob) and Mariette Lavoie both of Moncton; his grandchildren, Eric and Melissa; his step–grandchildren, Jakob, Alex, Joshua, Charlie and Jack; his great–grandchildren, Eli, Owen, Colette, Joseph and Jeremiah; also by several cousins, nieces and nephews.

Besides his parents, he was predeceased by one brother, Jean–Paul.

In respect of Ronaldo’s wishes, there will be no visitation. A funeral service will be held at Notre–Dame–de–la–Paix RC Church on Monday, October 28, 2019 at 11am.

The family would like to thank from the bottom of their hearts, the University of Ottawa Heart Institute and the Dr. Georges–L.–Dumont University hospital centre for all the support and good care provided to Ronaldo and the family during the hardest moment.
