Obituary for Ruth MacIntyre

Ruth Geldart MacIntyre, 100, of the Moncton Residence and formerly of Wellington Avenue, passed away peacefully at The Moncton Hospital on Tuesday, August 27, 2019. Born on September 13, 1918, Ruth was the daughter of Alexander and Beatrice (Geldart) MacDonald.

Ruth attended the former Wesley Memorial United Church where she was a member of the U.C.W. Ruth was a homemaker who enjoyed baking, sewing, knitting, crochet and needlework. She also loved having friends and neighbors stop in for visits.

Ruth was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She will be sadly missed by her children, Conan (Gwen), Cherry (Dan) Reddin, Rick (Carol), son–in–law, Romeo Gallant; grandchildren, Kimberly (Paul) deYturralde, Karen (Greg) Duquette, Tyler Leger, Conan Craig (Robin) MacIntyre, Alisha (Ross) Gallagher, Kathy (Anthony) Mosher; great grandchildren, Morgyn deYturralde, Max and Sam Duquette, Maddy, Ben and Piper MacIntyre, Abigail and Seth Gallagher, Kayla and Ava Mosher; sisters–in–law, Elsie MacIntyre and Marie Linden.

In addition to her parents, Ruth was predeceased by her husband, Lloyd MacIntyre (2009); daughter, Bonnie (2018); sister; Helen; brothers, Ken, Ernie (sister–in–law Helen), Merlin; half–sisters, Mavis MacDonald and Gail Rinzler; half brother, Robert.

The family would like to thank all the staff at Moncton Residence for their care and kindness shown to Ruth during her stay with them. Thank you also to the nurses and doctors on 3600 Moncton Hospital for their compassion shown to our mother.

Cremation has taken place under the care of Fergusons Funeral Home, 1657 Mountain Road, Moncton (858–1995). A private graveside service has been held at Fair Haven Memorial Gardens.

Memorial donations may be made to the Canadian Diabetes Association or The Greater Moncton SPCA. Online condolences for the family may be shared at www.fergusonsfuneralhome.com
