Obituary for John Francis “Jack” Doyle

John Francis “Jack” Doyle, 72, of North Alton, Kings County, Nova Scotia, passed away Wednesday, October 23, 2019 in the Valley Regional Hospital, Kentville, Nova Scotia. Born in Newcastle, New Brunswick, he was the son of the late Wilbert and Kathleen (Matchett) Doyle.

Jack served with the Royal Canadian Mounted Police, retiring with 38 years of service. He was an excellent police officer, but a better person, father, and husband. A seasoned raconteur, he had a quick wit and a way of drawing you in. Life was a little more fun with Jack Doyle around. He enjoyed his family time, wood working, and some travelling – but preferred to be at his little slice of paradise on Ward Mountain with his best friend and love of his life, Sandra. If you were his friend, he left an indelible mark. If he loved you, it was with his whole heart. It’s impossible to fill the hole left by Jack, but the memories of him will last forever.

He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Sandra (Waite); his children, Robert (Ashley) Doyle, Port Williams; Kathleen (Clark) Aitken, Ottawa, Ontario; Timothy Doyle, North Alton; John (Heidi) Stengel, Denver, Colorado; Karla (Michael) Harding, Florida; nine grandchildren, Oscar Aitken, Hawksley Doyle, Lochlan Doyle, Nick Stengel, Megan Stengel, Ashley Stengel, Keshayla Harding, Keaton Harding and Kalon (Leanne) Harding; a great-granddaughter, Kenley.

Visitation will be held from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday, October 26, 2019 in the White Family Funeral Home, Kentville. A celebration of life will start at 2:00 p.m. at the King’s Arms Pub, Kentville, on Sunday, October 27, 2019, with a social to follow. A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, November 2, 2019 in St. Patrick’s Cemetery, Nelson, New Brunswick.

Donations in memory may be made to the Valley Regional Hospital Foundation, Canadian Mesothelioma Foundation, or the Valley Hospice Foundation.

Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the White Family Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Kentville. Online condolences and inquiries may be directed to www.whitefamilyfuneralhome.com.
