Obituary for Arvilla Dines

It is with much sadness that the family of Arvilla Dines announce her passing on Wednesday, October 30, 2019 at the Oromocto Hospital. Arvilla was born on January 9, 1936 in Saint John, New Brunswick to Horace and Thelma (Burlock) Davidson.

Arvilla is survived by her loving husband Charles, one son Barry (Carrie) Golding, two daughters; Darlene (Paul) Blanchette and Elaine (Ken) Brown; step daughter Katherine Dines and step son William Dines and her grandchildren Andrea Golding, David Golding, Sydney Dines Craig and Grace Dines Craig; her brother Raymond Davidson and two very special nieces Gail Beveridge and Kathie Lennon.

Arvilla was predeceased by her parents, by her brother Horace (Bud) Davidson and his wife Dot, nephew Weldon Davidson, sister in law Patsy Davidson and nieces Susan and Brenda Davidson.

After retiring in 1989, Arvilla and Charlie moved to Nashwaak Bridge where she opened and operated her own Craft and Stained-Glass Store for nine years before moving back to Fredericton. Arvilla was an accomplished artist. Her works are cherished throughout New Brunswick and South Carolina. An avid quilter, Arvilla showed and won first prize for her work.

Arvilla’s generosity through the years allowed many people to be welcomed into her home to partake of incredible meals and loving hospitality. She will always be remembered as spiritual, humorous and dedicated to her family. She was a woman of strong faith and loved her Lord. Her passing is truly a Celebration of Life.

Visitation will take place at Bishop’s Funeral Home, 540 Woodstock Road on Friday, November 1st, 2019 from 7 to 9 PM. The Funeral Service will take place at Skyline Acres Baptist Church on Saturday November 2nd at 2 PM with Rev. Dr. Karl Csaszar officiating. A reception will follow at the church.
