Obituary for Léo-Paul LeBlanc

C'est avec grande tristesse que la famille de Père Léo-Paul LeBlanc annonce son décès au Centre hospitalier universitaire Dr-Georges-L.- Dumont le 2 novembre 2019. Né à La Hêtrière le 19 juillet 1923, il était le fils de feu Adolphe et de feu Alice (née Belliveau) LeBlanc.

Père Léo-Paul laisse dans le deuil une sœur, Soeur Marie Cécile LeBlanc, n.d.s.c., de Moncton et une belle-sœur, Antoinette (feu Sifroi et feu René Bourgeois) LeBlanc de Moncton, ainsi que plusieurs neveux et nièces.

Outre ses parents, cinq frères l'ont précédé dans la tombe: Albert (feu Béatrice), Sifroi, Henri (feu Zelma), Edgar (feu Lina) et Yvon (feu Marie-Mai), ainsi que cinq sœurs: Bertha (feu Stanley Bourgeois et feu Fred LeBlanc) LeBlanc, Emilienne (feu Emile) Cormier, Soeur Elodie LeBlanc, n.d.s.c., Soeur Yvonne LeBlanc, n.d.s.c., et Aurore (feu Laurent) Richard.

Père Léo-Paul compléta ses études classiques à l`Université SaintJoseph et ses études théologiques au Séminaire Saint-Coeur-deMarie à Halifax. Ordonné prêtre par Mgr Norbert Robichaud en l'église St-Thomas de Memramcook le 8 mai 1955, il fut vicaire aux paroisses de Barachois, Parkton, Dieppe, Shediac, Cap-Pelé, et curé aux paroisses de Pointe-Sapin, Saint-Paul (Adamsville) et HauteAboujagane. Il fut également aumônier du Mouvement des femmes chrétiennes pendant sept ans.

Père Léo-Paul était une personne sociable qui aimait rencontrer les gens. Il partageait son message, un message toujours positif sur la vie. Il aimait beaucoup les rencontres familiales et il était très dévoué envers sa grande famille. À sa retraite, il aimait le jardinage et surtout jouer aux quilles et au bridge.

Les visites auront lieu à la Maison funéraire Dupuis à Memramcook le mardi 5 novembre de 14 h à 16 h et de 19 h à 21 h. Le mercredi 6 novembre, les visites auront lieu à compter de 10 h en l'église SaintThomas de Memramcook, Saint-Joseph, d'où les funérailles auront lieu à 11 h. L'inhumation se fera au cimetière de Chartersville.

En sa mémoire, des dons à la Fondation de la Cathédrale de Moncton ou à des œuvres de charité seraient appréciés.
