Obituary for Kathleen Crawford

Kathleen Noel Crawford passed away November 3, 2019 at The Moncton Hospital with her family by her side. She was born to Donald A. and Nellie MacBeath on Christmas Day 1921, in their home on the banks of the Petitcodiac River, later to become Chateau â Pape.

Family always came first for Kay, and she could be relied upon to open her home and cottage for gatherings.

Kay was predeceased by her husband, J. Harold Crawford, her daughter, Janet Longaphie (Dan), and siblings Ron (Peg), Anne, Sandy and Ian MacBeath, Nedra Atkinson (Bud), Flora Reid (Cecil), and Betty Brook (Ken). She is survived by sisters-in-law, Beth (Ian) and Betty (Sandy) MacBeath. She will be greatly missed by her son, Ian, daughter-in-law, Elizabeth (Crawford), grandchildren, Kelsey Crawford (Zack Macaulay), Kyler Crawford (Lauren Sears), James, Barb, and Greig Longaphie (Carolyn), and great-grandchildren, Kennedy Longaphie, Rory and Brigid Macaulay. She holds a very special place in the hearts of her youngest great grandchildren, who always looked forward to snuggles with Gram and rides on her walker. They were the lights of her life in later years.

A special thank you to her niece Margaret Anne MacBeath (Rich Willis) and children for their care and support.

Kay was generous to those around her and an encyclopedia of practical knowledge. She had a special affinity with young children and animals. Her happiest times were at the cottage at Cap Brule, surrounded by family and friends, preferably with a dog by her side.

Thank you to The Briarlea staff for the attention and care they provided Kay during the past five years.

Kay’s family will host a private celebration of her life over the Christmas holidays, her favourite time of year. Fergusons Funeral Home, 1657 Mountain Road, Moncton (858-1995) in care of arrangements.

In memory of Kay, donations to a memorial of the donor’s choice would be appreciated. Online condolences for the family may be shared on Fergusons Funeral Home Facebook page or at www.fergusonsfuneralhome.com
