Obituary for Johannes "John" van Kats

John van Kats of Dow Settlement, NB passed away November 20, 2019 at Saint John Regional Hospital. He was born on December 27, 1937 in Utrecht, Netherlands, a son of the late Willem and Josina (van Wijk) van Kats. John was a retired RCMP Staff Sargeant.

He is survived by his wife, Donna (Green) van Kats; his children, Arthur van Kats (Lee), Victoria, BC and Brenda van Kats (Jules), Halifax, NS; two grandsons, Craig and Joshua; several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by brothers Jan, Nico (late Susan) and August van Kats.

Visitation will be held at Flewelling Funeral Home, 585 Otis Drive, Nackawic, NB on Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. Funeral mass will be held at St. Thomas Catholic Church, 14 Mill Street, Canterbury, NB on Monday, November 25, 2019 at 11 am with Father Gerry White officiating.
