Obituary for Margaret Foley

It is with heavy hearts that the family of Margaret Foley, loving wife of the late John Foley, announces her passing which occurred on Saturday, November 23, 2019. She was born in Albany, PEI on November 11, 1928 to the late Frank and Mabel (Hagen) Kelly.

Margaret was a devoted member of the Catholic Women’s League, she enjoyed curling at the Carlton Curling Club and was a volunteer with many organizations within the community.

She is survived by her sons; Timothy (Charlene) of London, ON, William of Saint John, Gerald (Nancy) of Saint John, Paul (Dawn-Marie) of Ottawa, ON and daughter; Mary-Ellen Gray (Ralph) of Saint John, brother-in-law Bill Morrison, as well as 10 grandchildren, a great-grandchild and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

In addition to her husband and parents, Margaret is predeceased by her brothers; Fred, Gerald, and Joseph, sister; Kathleen Carmichael, grandson; Kevin Gray, great-grandson; Gordon Gray and daughter-in-law Charlene.

Arrangements are under the direction of Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road (646-2424) with visitation being held on Friday, November 29, 2019 between the hours of 4 to 8 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Saturday, November 30 at 12 noon from Holy Redeemer Parish (formerly St. Pius X). Internment to follow at later date.

The family wishes to extend their deepest thanks and gratitude to the staff of Tucker Hall, Parkland, Saint John for their kindness during their mom’s residency, as well as their thoughtful and attentive care over the years, especially in the last days of her life.

Memorial donations to Ridgewood Veteran’s Wing, Bobby’s Hospice, Alzheimer Society or to the charity of your choice would be appreciated.
