Obituary for Donald Joseph Lanteigne

It is with great sadness that the family of Don Lanteigne announce his passing on Thursday, November 28, 2019 in the Palliative care unit at the Dr Everett Chalmer’s Hospital in Fredericton, New Brunswick. He was born on February 28, 1949 in Saint John New Brunswick, son of the late Edgar and Alexandra (Hache) Lanteigne.

Don will be always remembered and greatly missed by his wife of 46 years, Diane (Wright) Lanteigne and his treasured children, Brent (Ximena) of Toronto and Vanessa Lees (Josh) of Burton. Don was also a favourite brother who will be sadly missed by his siblings: John Lanteigne, Elie Lanteigne (Susan), Mike Lanteigne, Aimee Lanteigne and Jeanne Blanchard (Freeman). He will also be missed by his Aunt Ursule (Jim) and a special nephew Troy Wells (Marie) of Fredericton, as well as many other nephews and nieces, all of whom he loved and adored.

Don worked for Canada Post as a letter carrier in Oromocto for 35 years. He was an avid reader and loved to talk, especially about American politics, sports cars and trivia. He loved little kids and little dogs and they loved him. He was often the life of the party and danced “like no one was watching”.

There will be no visitation at the request of the family. A Service of Remembrance will take place on Monday, December 2, 2019 at 11:00 am at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church in Oromocto, New Brunswick.

In lieu of flowers, donations to a charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated by the family. Online condolences may be made at www.oromoctofh.com.
