Obituary for Robert Barrieau

It is with great sadness and broken hearts that the family announces the passing of Robert “Duker” Barrieau on December 2, 2019, at Hospice House Fredericton with his family by his side. Born on July 21, 1964, he was the son of the late Arthur and Ila (Gregan) Barrieau.

Duker was a passionate hunter all his life and thoroughly enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He spent 20 + years working at DND Base Gagetown and will be missed by his work family.

He will be greatly missed by his son, Owen Barrieau; brothers, Jerry Gregan (Lynn) and Joey Barrieau (Norma); sisters, Louise Dickinson (Bobby), Anna Chase (Jimmy), Donna Harris (David) and Jeanette Barrieau; several nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews; many aunts and uncles; as well as two very close friends, Raymond Cashol (Rose-Mary) and Norman Clouston (Karen).

Honorary pallbearers will include his nephews, Jason Gregan, Darren Gregan, Derek Gregan, Jody Barrieau, Mike Barrieau and Matt Robinson, as well as special honorary pallbearers, Raymond Cashol and Norman Clouston.

Visitation will be held on Friday, December 6, 2019 at Oromocto Funeral Home from 2 to 4 pm and 7 to 9 pm. A memorial mass will be held at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church on Saturday, December 7, 2019 at 2 pm with Fr. Charles Udeh as celebrant.

For those who wish, memorial donations may be made to Hospice House or a charity of the donor’s choice. Online condolences may be left at www.oromoctofh.com
