Obituary for Steven Ogilvie

It is with deep shock and sadness that our family announces the passing of Steven (Steve) Frederick Ogilvie, 49, on November 22, 2019 at his home with his family in Elkford, BC. Born on January 9, 1970 in Fredericton, NB, Steven was the son of Fred and Evelyn (Saunders) Ogilvie.

In addition to his parents, Steven is survived by his loving and devoted wife, Tammy (Beaulieu); daughter, Kayla; son, Joshua; sister, Connie Ogilvie (Chris); father and mother in law, John and Sandra Beaulieu; aunts and uncles, Joanne and Ron Russell, Nadine and David McKeown, and Phyllis Estey; cousins, Tony, Michelle, Melody, Andrew, Angela, Tim, Susan, Danny, Joel, Jamie and Diane.

Steven was predeceased by his grandparents, Ross and Beryl Ogilvie, Claire and Frances Saunders and his aunt, Patricia Gaunce.

Steve loved his work as a Commercial Diver with Global Industries which took him to Louisiana, Argentina, Africa and Mexico. After marrying the love of his life, Tammy, and having 2 beautiful children, he settled in Hubbards, Nova Scotia and worked for Michelin Tires. The family relocated to Elkford, BC so Steve could pursue employment as a haul truck operator with Teck Coal. Steve was a strong, no–nonsense person who never faltered from his beliefs. One of his favourite pastimes was going to the gun range with his buddies. There was nothing more important in this world than his family, whom he loved fiercely.

Steve loved spending time outdoors. He shared his love of kayaking and “Starwars” with his son, Josh and playing basketball outside with his daughter, Kayla. Tammy and he would often sit, talk and enjoy a cup of coffee together reminiscing and looking forward to retirement and that new Corvette. He was loved and adored by Tammy and the children. Steve would do anything in the world for his wife and children. He was the most unique, caring, selfless and sincere man we have ever known.

No funeral services will be held by request. There will be a Celebration of Life gathering in Fredericton, New Brunswick in the summer 2020, date TBA.

In lieu of flowers, donations to Pancreatic Cancer Research appreciated. Personal condolences may be shared at www.cherishedmemoriesfs.com Arrangements entrusted to Cherished Memories Funeral Services Ltd.
