Obituary for Candice Robinson

It’s with heavy hearts that the family of Candice Robinson, 55 of Moncton, announce her passing on Tuesday, December 10, 2019, at Dr. Georges–L. Dumont Hospital following a courageous and lengthy battle with rheumatoid arthritis. Born in Moncton, she was the daughter of the late Cecil E. Sowerby and Mildred (Tilley) Sowerby.

Despite her illness, Candice lived life to the fullest with positivity and grace. Candice always welcomed you with open arms, ready to feed you and provide you with exceptional hospitality. She was very proud of her work in the hospitality and food industry. Recently, she extended her generosity to small animals by lovingly opening “Little Paws Motel” where she took great care of many small dogs including her special girl, Ruby. Candice also loved listening to good music, eating good food, practicing Tai Chi and living a healthy lifestyle. She spent many years travelling with her husband and living in numerous places including Banff, Ottawa, Charlottetown and Texas. Candice was happiest by the ocean, she loved spending her summers with family and great friends in their cottage at the Bluff.

She is survived by her loving husband of 25 years, Dave; a step daughter, Dayna; eight brothers and sisters; Mary Lawrence (Doug) of Quispamsis, Terry Sowerby (Brenda) of Abbotsford, BC, Dona Melanson (Larry) of Scoudouc, Barbara (Eugene Ruel) of Shediac, Tommy of Calgary, AB, Katherine Conkling (JC) of Florida, Debra Vaters (Blair) of Moncton, Cecil (Joanne) of Scoudouc. As well as a cousin, Nancy Murrin; sister–in–law, Cathie Robinson of Moncton; a brother–in–law, Pete Belliveau of Shediac. As well as several nieces and nephews to whom she cherished like her own children.

Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her siblings: Janet Belliveau, Susan Sowerby, Peggy Sowerby, and Gordie Sowerby.

The family will be receiving condolences at Frenette Funeral and Cremation Centre, 396 Main Street, Shediac, on Thursday, December 12, 2019 from 7pm to 9pm only. The funeral mass will be celebrated at St. Martin’s in the Woods Church, Shediac Cape, on Friday, December 13, 2019 at 11am. A reception for family and friends will follow the service at the hall. Interment in Parish Cemetery, Shediac Cape.

In memory of Candice, a contribution to the SPCA Moncton would be appreciated. Cremation and funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the professional care of Frenette Funeral and Cremation Centre, (532–3297) Shediac.
