Obituary for Dawna Allen

Surrounded by her loving family Dawna Margaret Allen passed away on Tuesday, December 10, 2019, at Embassy Hall Shannex Quispamsis at the age of 74. Born in Saint John NB she was the daughter of the late Irving and Margaret (Baxter) Moore.

Dawna grew up in Baxter’s Corner. She was extremely devoted to her family and especially cherished her four grandsons. She will always be remembered for her love of clogging, square dancing and her attendance at the dances held at Loch Lomond School. Dawna worked for Maritime Beverages for a number of years prior to retiring. She enjoyed summers spent camping in PEI, Pine Cone and at the Washademoak Lake with her very special cousins Nancy and Bill. Twelve years ago, this month, Dawna received the “gift of life” a liver transplant. She felt very blessed to have the opportunity to watch her grandchildren grow up.

She is survived by her daughters; Tanya (Terry) Tingley and Kim (Darren) David, sisters; Doris Moore and Betty Rodgers. Her grandsons; Ryan, Brandon, Cole and Tyler, great granddaughters Callie and Gracelyn and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Dawna is predeceased by her loving husband Russell, in-law's; Vera Allen, Raymond Allen, brother-in-laws Glennie Moore and Russell Rodgers and niece Janice Weaver.

Our family would like to extended our thanks and appreciation to the staff and volunteers of Shannex Embassy Hall, Dr. Brian Craig, the Saint John Extra Mural and staff of the Saint John Regional Hospital Emergency Department for their excellent care.

Resting at the Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road (646-2424) with visitation hours being held on Friday, December 13, 2019 between 2-4 and 6-8 PM. Funeral Service will take place on Saturday at 1 PM from the Fundy Chapel.

Memorial donations towards the Children's Wish Foundation or a charity of your choice would be appreciated.
