Obituary for Rachel Butler

It is with heavy hearts that the family of Rachel Mary (Gaudet) Butler announces her passing on Thursday, December 12th at the Saint John Regional Hosptial while surrounded by family. Rachel was born on September 3rd, 1933 in Grande– Digue, NB to the late Stanley and Elizabeth (Hebert) Gaudet. She was the loving wife of the late David Butler.

Rachel is survived by her children; David (Debbie) Butler, Wanda (Doug) Oliver and LeeAnne (Melvin) Clark, sister Elsie Hooley, sister in–law Connie Gaudet, grandchildren; Robyn and Ian Clark, Jennifer and Brandon Butler, and Mitchell and Andrew Oliver, and several nieces and nephews.

She is predeceased by her parents, husband David, infant brother Joe, brother Clarence and sisters; Doris and Jean.

Resting at Castle Funeral Home, 309 Lancaster Avenue, Saint John, NB E2M 2L3 506–634–1701. Visitation will be held on Sunday, December 15th from 6:00PM to 9:00PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held from the Holy Spirit Parish (St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church) on Monday, December 16th at 12:00 Noon. Interment will follow in Holy Cross Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers donations in Rachel’s memory can be made to Bobby’s Hospice, Diabetes Canada or the charity of the donor’s choice. Online condolences can be made at www.castlefh.com
