Obituary for Peter Kent

Kent, Peter Cameron passed away peacefully at home on December 12th, at the age of 66. Born in Nova Scotia, he was the son of Zita and the late Lesley Kent.

He is survived by his loving wife of 22 years, Marise Leger, daughter Adrienne, son Christopher, step–sons Jerome (Annie), Vincent (Michelle), and beloved grandchildren Mykaela, Lydia, and Jude. He is also survived by sisters Shelly (Calvin), Patricia (late Reginald), and brother Louis (Patricia), and many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, and countless friends.

Peter was born in Nova Scotia in 1953. He moved to Ontario as a young adult to eventually begin a 33 year career as a Correctional Officer for Correctional Service Canada. He began in Collins Bay Institution, transferring to Springhill Institution and later Dorchester Penitentiary, to finish a long and accomplished career at the minimum sector of Dorchester Penitentiary. Peter enjoyed traveling, camping, and spending quality time with friends and family. After retirement, he became a member of the Hillsborough Baptist Church. He was heavily involved with the church in many different aspects. He was always happy to spend his down–time with family and friends.

Visitation will be held at the Hillsborough Baptist Church, 26 Braam Crescent, Hillsborough, NB, on Tuesday, December 17th from 12pm to 2pm, followed by a celebration of life at 2pm at the church.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the donor’s charity of choice or to the Hillsborough Baptist Church.
