Obituary for Darryl Roy

The family of Darryl Michael Roy regretfully announces his passing on Wednesday, December 11th at the Miramichi Regional Hospital at the age of 62 after a lengthy battle with illness. Born in Germany, he was the son of Alvin Joseph Roy and Nina (Savoy) Roy.

Darryl was a proud heavy equipment operator with UPM for 22 years. He was a fishing enthusiast and avid Nascar fan. He enjoyed the outdoors and spending time with his family.

Darryl will be fondly remembered by his wife of 41 years, Anne (Doucette) Roy; his son, Michael Roy (Tara), and daughter Melissa MacDonald (Gary) of Napan N.B, and his three grandchildren: Tennesen, Taelyn, and Daxton. He is further survived by his parents, Al and Nina Roy of Moncton, sister Marlene Allison and brothers Ricky and Allen Roy of Moncton, and brother David Roy (Mary) of Dartmouth N.S, as well as many extended family members and friends.

Visitation for Darryl will be held at Maher’s Funeral Home on Sunday, December 15, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9. The Funeral will be held on Monday, December 16, from Saint Michael’s Basilica at 11:00am, with Father Fraser officiating.

As expressions of sympathy, donations to the charity of one’s choice would be appreciated.
