Obituary for Margaret Richardson

1958-2019
Margaret “Margie” Helen Elizabeth Richardson, passed away at the Miramichi Regional Hospital on Friday, December 6, 2019 at the age of 61, surrounded by her family. Born in Oshawa, Ontario, Margie is the daughter of Eileen and the late Raymond Richardson of Craigville, N.B.

She is survived by her husband, Gerard “Gerry” Doyle, son Ryan, daughter Laura and mother Eileen, all of Craigville; sisters Cynthia MacDonald (Darrell), Tammy Sullivan (James), Kathy Richardson (Larry), Nancy Knowles (James) all of Miramichi, Allison MacKenzie (Terry), Kelly Hachey (Robert) of Napan, Valerie Richardson of Truro, N.S.; several nieces and nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

Margie retired from working at Mount Saint Joseph Nursing Home after 35 years of service. She enjoyed playing many sports, travelling and volunteering for many organizations including the Nelson Doyle Dancers, Saint Patrick’s Church, Remembering Nelson Fair, Heritage Fair and many more. Margie is always cheerful, positive and willing to lend a hand to anyone in need. She is a kind, loving and caring wife, mother, daughter, aunt and friend to so many. Her infectious laugh and welcoming nature puts everyone she meets at ease. Her kindness spreads far beyond Miramichi, her many friends here, in Ireland and wherever she travels.

Margie rested at Maher’s Funeral Home, Sunday evening, December 8, 2019 from 7 to 9 pm and Monday, December 9, 2019 from 2 to 4 pm and 7 to 9 pm. Funeral Mass was celebrated at Saint Patrick’s Roman Catholic Church at 11 a.m., December 10 with Father Anthony and Father Creamer officiating. Readers included sister in law Donna Doyle and special family friend Rosemary Hallihan, Eulogy by niece Ellen Doyle, music by sister-in-law Lynn Doyle and Eugene Somers, Pallbearers included nephews Joey Richardson, Chris Sullivan, Lucas MacKenzie, brothers-in-law Robert Hachey, James Knowles, Terry MacKenzie, cousin Dale Doyle and family friend James McCarthy. Honourary Pallbearers included nephews Cody Knowles and Greg Doyle, family friends Tammy Moar, Rosemary Hallihan, Cathy Legere and Jessica Browne, Honour Guard by Mount Saint Joseph and the Nelson Doyle Dancers. A reception was held in the church basement by the C.W.L. Interment will be in Saint Patrick’s Church Cemetery in the spring.

As expressions of sympathy, Margie’s wishes are that donations be made to Saint Patrick’s Steeple Fund or the Nelson Doyle Dancers.
