Obituary for Nélida Bourque

1928 - 2020
Sister Nélida Bourque (Sr. Marie-Reine), ndsc, of Maison-mère des Religieuses Notre-Dame-du-Sacré-Coeur, Moncton, passed away following a very short illness on Tuesday, January 7, 2020, at the convent where she resided. She was 91 years old and in the 72nd year of her religious life. Born on July 25, 1928 in Bouctouche, she was the daughter of the late Thaddée and Amanda (Pellerin) Bourque.

Besides her religious family, she is survived by several nephews and nieces. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.

Besides her parents, she was predeceased by three sisters: Edmée, Florine and Léona; and three brothers: Gérard, Aldéric and Edgar.

Sister Nélida will be resting at the Notre-Dame-d’Acadie Pavilion of the Maison-mère, 125 King Street, Moncton (Godfrey Lane entrance) on Thursday, January 9 from 2 to 8:30 pm and Friday, January 10 from 9 am until the time of funeral mass. Solemn Vespers will be held on Thursday evening at 7 pm. The funeral mass will be celebrated on Friday, January 10 in the Maison-mère chapel at 10 am. Interment will be in Memramcook. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Frenette Funeral and Cremation Centre, Moncton (858-1900). Words of comfort and donations may be made at www.frenettefuneralhome.com
