Obituary for Annie Mullin

The family of Annie Dorothy (Horsman) Mullin announces her passing on January 15, 2020 at the Moncton City Hospital. She was born at O’Neils, New Brunswick on March 30, 1927 to Hazen and Celeste (Kelly) Horsman.

She is survived by her husband, Russel Lawson Mullin, her children, Daryl (Susan), Sandra (Allison) Burlock, and Rick (Peggy), 12 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.

Mum and Dad were married on December 8, 1948 and have celebrated 71 years of marriage.

Before meeting Dad, Mum worked for family and various others doing housework and looking after children. When they met in 1945, Mum was working at Marven’s Biscuit Factory, but quit upon getting married.

Mum kept a spotless home, sewed many of our clothes, and was a good cook. Her favourite hobby, besides knitting, was bowling. She was a member of the Y Ladies League for approximately 50 years, only quitting after she had a stroke. Mum also bowled on a church league and another league for a short time. Mum was a long-time member of Parkside Baptist Church.

Mum was predeceased by her 11 siblings and their spouses: Edith (Ernest), John (Beatrice), Hilda (Byron), Katherine (Raymond), Russell (Hilda), Oscar, Edgar (Helena), Burton (Edna), Austin (Mabel), Arnold, and Alan (Edith). She was also predeceased by her daughter and husband, Wendy and Bob Hayward.

Thank you to all of the doctors and nurses at the Moncton City Hospital for your excellent care.

Visitation will be at Fergusons Funeral Home, 1657 Mountain Road, Moncton (858-1995) on Friday, January 17th from 6 pm to 8 pm, followed by the funeral at Fergusons Funeral Home Chapel on Saturday, January 18, 2020 at 11:00 am. Reception in the Funeral Home Reception Centre following the service. Interment will be at Fair Haven Memorial Garden following the reception.

Donation suggestions in Mum’s memory are: Friends of the Moncton Hospital, Operation Smile Canada, or the donor’s choice. Online condolences for the family may be shared on Fergusons Funeral Home Facebook page or at www.fergusonsfuneralhome.com
