Obituary for Betty Hughson

The passing of Betty Jean Alberta Hughson of Fredericton, NB, wife of the late Shalta Hughson occurred on Friday, January 17, 2020 at York Care Center. Born on December 9, 1934 in Fredericton, NB, she was the daughter of the late Albert and Ella (Mullin) Ring.

Betty was a member of the Nashwaaksis United Church, Lifetime Member of the UCW, and she was also a former coordinator for the church nursery. She enjoyed animals and especially loved spending time with her children and grandchildren. Betty was the last surviving member of her immediate family.

Betty is survived by children, Kenneth Hughson (Angel) and David Hughson (Kerry) both of Fredericton, NB, Kimberley McCarty (George) of Douglas, NB and Reginald Hughson (Darrin) of Toronto, ON; several grandchildren and great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband, Betty was predeceased by her daughter, Lorraine Hughson, and her brothers, Watson Ring and Boyd Ring.

Visitation will take place at Nashwaaksis United Church on Monday, January 20, 2020 from 10 am - 1 pm, followed by the Memorial Service at Nashwaaksis United Church at 2 pm with Rev. Franklin Curtis officiating. Interment will take place in Douglas Rural Cemetery at a later date.

For those who wish, remembrances may be made to the Fredericton SPCA or the charity of the donor’s choice. Personal condolence may be offered through www.yorkfh.com
