Obituary for Samuel Melvin

The passing of Samuel Arthur Melvin of Fredericton, NB, husband of Heather (Mitchell) Melvin, occurred on Saturday, February 1, 2020 at Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital. Born on July 5, 1952 in Saint John, NB, he was the son of the late Ben and Joan (Chamberlain) Whitlock.

Sam worked at A.R. Menzies & Sons. He enjoyed playing darts, golfing, bowling, camping and fishing.

Sam is survived by his wife; Heather (Mitchell) Melvin; daughters Connie Banks (Oscar) of Fredericton, NB and Kimberly Melvin of Oromocto, NB; sons Dean and Chris Stewart both of Fredericton, NB; sisters Mary Saunders (George) of Penniac, NB, Barb Gulash of Yorkton, SK and Linda Hanson (Darren) of Fredericton, NB; brother Gary Whitlock of Penniac, NB; grandchildren Justin, Brandon, Kyle, Johnny, Jessie, Katie, Cassie and Addison; great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins.

Sam was predeceased by his son Scott Melvin and brothers Leon and Aubrey Whitlock.

Interment will take place in the Penniac United Church Cemetery, at a later date.

The family would like to express a special thank you to Dr. Stephen Pond, Dr. Cameron, Dr. Goodyear and Debbie his Extra Mural Nurse.
