Obituary for Rowena Grant

It is with appreciation for a life well-lived that the family of Rowena E. Grant announces her passing, which occurred on Saturday, February 8, 2020 at her residence. Born in Woodstock, NB on December 3, 1938, she was a daughter of the late Hugh and Myrtle (Cunningham) Hamilton.

Rowena spent many years as a caring and devoted teacher at John Caldwell School in Grand Falls and Fundy High School in St. George. After retiring from teaching, she enriched her life by participating in PROBUS and the University of Women, as well as volunteering her time at Imperial Theatre and the Saint John Regional Hospital.

Rowena will be missed by her beloved daughter Kim Grant (Terry McNamara); a sister Joyce Davidson (the late Orland); and several nieces and nephews.

Arrangements are under the care and direction of Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John, NB (634-7424). A celebration of Rowena’s life will be held on Wednesday, February 12, 2020 at 2:00 pm. Visitation will take place the same day, from 12 to 2 pm.
