Obituary for Brent Morrison

1949 – 2020
The family of Brent Morrison are sad to announce his passing on Saturday, February 8, 2020 at the age of 70. Born in Chatham, on September 1, 1949, son of the late Merle and Lillian (Taylor) Morrison.

Brent was employed for over 30 years with Alcan Alumimun Mines in Kitimat, B.C. and also held the positions as President and Arbitrator of union local #2301, CAW/TCA Canada in Kitimat, B.C. He retired and then returned to Miramichi in 2008. He was a member of St. Andrew’s United Church, former member of Miramichi Golf & Country Club and in his younger years enjoyed and participated in local boxing matches. He loved all sports and was a great conversationalist on all local and world affairs.

He is survived by his sister, Debbie; brother, Dennis (Judy) and sister-in-law, Shirley all of Miramichi. Brent loved and enjoyed his niece, Amy (Tim), his nephews: Mark, David, Kevin (Gill) and Martin (Barb); also his great nieces and nephews: Karlea, Taylor, Kelsey, Abbie, Nicole, Brandon and Tye; aunts: Joyce Taylor, Stella and Rita Gilliss and many cousins.

He was predeceased by his parents, brothers: Ronald and Dale, brother-in-law John Moir and nephew Brian.

Honouring Brent’s request there will be no visitation and no funeral service. A family graveside service will be held at Pine Grove Cemetery in Loggieville at a later date.

As expressions of sympathy, donations in Brent’s memory can be made to the Pine Grove Cemetery or a charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated by the family.
