Obituary for Leonard Belliveau

1936 - 2020
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Leonard Belliveau, 83, of Dieppe, on Sunday, February 9th, 2020 at the Dr. Georges-L.-Dumont University Hospital Center, Moncton. Born on April 8th, 1936 in Dieppe, NB, he was the son of the late Edgar and the late Adrienne (née: LeBlanc) Belliveau.

Mr. Belliveau was a long-time member of Sainte-Thérèse parish.
He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Della (née: Gautreau); his sons: Bernard (Karen) and Armand; his grandchildren: Christopher (Janna), Olivia (Colin), Christine (Remi) and Brigitte (Ian); his sisters: Ida (late Leonard) Doucet, Pauline (late Gerard) Richard, Roberte (late Paul) Melanson and Camilla (Leonard) Boudreau; his brothers: Adrien (Jeanette), Rheal (Annette) and Fred (Pauline); his sister-in-law, Jan, as well as several nieces and nephews.

Besides his parents; he was predeceased by his sister, Alma (Herve) Richard and also by his brother, Edgar.

He was known and respected by his peers in the oil service industry, where he worked for many years until his retirement. Each season, year after year, he watched his Montreal Canadiens with passion from his favourite chair next to the fireplace. A humble and smart man, he found pleasure and pride in creating a paradise for Della at their home stuffed with gardens, flower pots and handcrafted finds. His strength, integrity, advice, sense of humour and practical jokes will be sadly missed by those who knew this great man, who was so dear to our family.

At his request, no visitation or funeral service. A family graveside service will be held at a later date. Interment in Notre-Dame-du-Calvaire Cemetery, Dieppe.

In memory of Leonard, donations to the Canadian Cancer Society or to the New Brunswick Lung Association would be appreciated.

Arrangements entrusted to Chartersville Funeral Home, 363 Amirault Street, Dieppe (857-1901). www.chartersville.com
