Obituary for David Reynolds

KENTVILLE, NS – David Williams Reynolds, 84, of Kentville, NS, passed away Monday, February 10, 2020 in the Valley Regional Hospital, Kentville. Born in Fredericton, NB, he was a son of the late Charles and Susan (Williams) Reynolds.

He graduated from the University of New Brunswick with a degree in Civil Engineering and was a member of the Nova Scotia Professional Engineers Association. Early in his career, Dave worked as the Assistant Engineer on the Dominion Atlantic Railway and during his time with the Federal Government on projects that included Kejimkujik National Park and the Digby Wharf. In 1974 Dave began working with the Armour Group during the revitalization of Historic Properties in Halifax. Upon retirement to Kentville, Dave volunteered with the Glooscap Curling Club and the Helping Hearts Program at Valley Regional Hospital.

He is survived by a son, Edward “Ted”, Kentville; three daughters, Catherine (Leo) Comeau, Halifax; Heather, Sambro Head; Joann (Steve) Farmer, Ketch Harbour; a sister, Norma (Edward) Bailey, Fredericton; a brother, Alden (Sharon), Fredericton; seven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren.

Dave was predeceased by his wife, Catherine Mary (Whalen); a sister, Phyllis.

Cremation has taken place. Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, February 13, 2020 in the White Family Funeral Home, Kentville. The funeral service, followed by a reception, will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, February 14, 2020 in St. James Anglican Church, Kentville, Reverend Shirley Cole officiating. Burial will take place in the Holy Cross Cemetery, Kentville.

Donations in memory may be made to the Valley Cardiac Rehab Society.
