Obituary for Gérald Melanson

1930 - 2020
Gérald Melanson, 89, formerly of Grande-Digue, passed away on Sunday February 9, 2020 at Monarch Hall in Riverview. Born on December 21, 1930 in Coal Branch, he was the son of the late Adélard and Rose-Délima (Comeau) Melanson.

He is survived by three sons: Gary (late Kathleen) of Port Richey, FL, Michael (Carol) of Charlestown, NH, and Jamie of Amherst, NS; four grandchildren: Aaron, Nicole, Jessica, and Kimberly; seven great-grandchildren: Andrew, Brandon, Yvonne, Kaitlyn, Victoria, Jordan, and Jenna; as well as several nieces and nephews. He was the last surviving member of his immediate family.

Besides his parents and siblings, he was predeceased by his wife, Marguerite née Gauvin (2006).

In accordance to Gérald’s wishes, there will be no visitation at the funeral centre. A private funeral service will be celebrated at Frenette Funeral and Cremation Centre, 88 Church Street, Moncton (858-1900). Interment will be in Our Lady of Calvary cemetery, Dieppe.

In memory of Gérald, a contribution to the Canadian Mental Health Association would be appreciated. Words of comfort and donations can be made at www.frenettefuneralhome.com.
