It is with great sadness that the family of Jeannie Holmes announces her passing which occurred on Thursday, January 16, 2020 at the age of 78, at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born in Johnstone, Scotland on March 17, 1941, she was the daughter of the late William and Charlotte (Mills) Smith.

Jeannie was a native of Port Glasgow, Scotland; however she called Kingston, NB home for the latter 50 years. Jeannie enjoyed spending time with her many friends, “The Peninsula Pearls”, and in her early years she volunteered for the Special Olympics.

Jeannie was dearly loved and will be forever remembered by her daughters: Catherine Kruining (Bill) and Jennifer Robichaud (Darren); siblings: Allistair Smith and Maureen McIntosh; grandchildren: Stephanie, Jamie, Kaila, Matthew, Nicholas and Ethan; great-grandchildren: Korie, Jude and Calix; as well as several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Jeannie was predeceased by her siblings: Henry, Robert, Ian, Billy, Margaret and Rhoda; and beloved friend Mae.

May the road rise up to meet you. May the wind be always at your back. May the sun shine warm upon your face. May the rains fall soft upon your fields, and until we meet again ..... May God hold you in the palm of his hand.
